Abstract

Numerosos teóricos del desarrollo afirman que la estrategia del desarrollo local constituye una alternativa para la obtención de los Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio. Sólo si se tiene en cuenta los recursos endógenos de los territorios, la satisfacción de las necesidades básicas de la población, el respeto a la diversidad cultural, una adecuada distribución del ingreso, un nivel adecuado de descentralización, equidad del género, sustentabilidad ambiental, trabajo digno, participación real de los individuos, asociaciones e instituciones, y un control mayor de los procesos de desarrollo de los actores locales, se podrá impulsar iniciativas que contribuyan a alcanzar los Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio.
