Apuntes Teóricos Sobre La Definición Y Clasificación De Los Servicios Medioambientales

Abstract

Internacionalmente no existe consenso acerca de la definición de los servicios medioambientales. Sin embargo, es posible identificar dos enfoques seguidos por la comunidad internacional para la definición de los mismos: los servicios proporcionados por los ecosistemas y los servicios de gestión medioambiental. De igual forma, no existe un criterio único sobre la clasificación de los mismos a nivel global. La clasificación oficial es la que aparece en la Lista de Clasificación Sectorial de los Servicios (W/120); no obstante, existe consenso internacional de que esta se encuentra desactualizada. En este marco, otros países y organismos han propuesto sus clasificaciones, siendo la de la Comunidad Europea la de mayor aceptación.
