Abstract

El mundo de nuestros días, al menos el mundo occidental y dentro de éste, la vieja Europa es el resultado de un proceso histórico de lucha y aspiración por la Igualdad. En dicho proceso histórico las fronteras sociales que compartimentaban a las sociedades estamentarias, sustentadas en las asimetrías sociales que hacían, desde la cuna hasta la tumba, profundamente desiguales a los hombres, han ido cayendo paulatinamente . Por ello, siguiendo a Savater (2004) los denominados avances sociales de las dos ultimas centurias constituyen procesos generalizados hacia la igualdad efectiva dentro de las sociedades europeas, siguiendo el azimut de la egalité de la Declaración de los Derechos del Hombre y del Ciudadano (1789)
