Abstract

A dialética do esclarecimento é o tema central das Escola de Frankfurt em relação à análise das mudanças sociais que ocorrem a partir dos desenvolvimentos trazidos pela filosofia moderna. As querelas da sociologia alemã ainda ocupam as discussões de Adorno e Horkheimer nos 30 do século passado, num sentido em que a cultura parece regredir ao invés de ascender e esclarecer-se. Donde vêm os pesadelos que assombram os tempos da primeira metade do do século XX que culminaram no nazismo? Habermas relê esses fatos e aponta para soluções que encaram os erros à luz de uma realização do esclarecimento, encontrar uma nova saída para as idealizações da filosofia moderna.
