Abstract

La lógica del capitalismo avanzado destruye la cuasi-autonomía de la esfera cultural que disfrutó en etapas anteriores del capitalismo, lo que se traduce, no en su desaparición, sino al contrario en su prodigiosa expansión en el dominio de lo social, hasta el punto de que no resulta exagerado decir con Jameson que, en nuestra vida social, ya todo –desde los valores mercantiles y el poder estatal hasta los hábitos y las propias estructuras mentales- se ha convertido en cultura de un modo original y aún no teorizado. Se trata entonces de comprender cual es la función social de la cultura en la actualidad.
