Abstract

Si algo ha caracterizado la evolución de la economía mundial en los pasados 50 años ha sido el desarrollo industrial. Sin embargo, no ha sido parejo ni continuo. Con base en grandes innovaciones tecnológicas de manera creciente basadas en los avances de la investigación científica, en lo principal en los Estados Unidos, algunos de los países de la Europa Occidental y Japón, la capacidad de la industria para satisfacer necesidades y demandas modernas ha dados saltos cuantitativos y cualitativos sin precedente. Se podría sostener que en medida importante tuvieron su origen en la segunda Guerra Mundial, preludio de futuras guerras tecnológicas; mas también provenían de la acumulación del consumo y de la productividad general, del aumento constante del ingreso familiar...
