Abstract

Philippou, Georghiou and Philippou (1983) introduced the negative binomial distributions (including geometric distributions as special cases) and the Poisson distributions of order k. Since then several other discrete distributions of order k were studied. In this paper, a new class of negative binomial distributions of order k is discussed. The probability distributions and the probability generating functions of these distributions are derived.
