Distribución espacial de los entes del sistema nacional de innovación brasileño: análisis de la década de 2000

Abstract

Las desigualdades regionales son un fenómeno inherente al subdesarrollo económico. Algunos autores estructuralistas atribuyeron ese aspecto a la distribución desigual de los frutos del progreso técnico entre las regiones del país. Se estima que ese proceso está relacionado con la distribución espacial de los actores que componen el sistema nacional de innovación, que redunda en diferentes oportunidades para el aprovechamiento de los beneficios del desarrollo técnico en las regiones. Bajo esta perspectiva, en este trabajo se examinan la distribución espacial de los activos de ciencia, tecnología e innovación entre las microrregiones brasileñas y su evolución entre 2000 y 2010. Se observa que en ese período se amplió el ámbito territorial del sistema nacional de innovación, que —en consecuencia— comprende un conjunto mayor de microrregiones y presenta mayor continuidad espacial. Ese proceso tuvo lugar en forma paralela a un reciente movimiento de desconcentración regional de los ingresos en el país.
