Nachhaltiges wirtschaftliches Wachstum durch Innovation: die Rolle von kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen

Abstract

Unternehmensgründungen sowie kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen kommen im Innovationsprozess bei der Entwicklung, Nutzung und Verbreitung von Forschungsergebnissen eine bedeutende Rolle zu. Dies machte der internationale Workshop zum Zusammenhang zwischen Unternehmensgründungen, Innovationen und wirtschaftlichem Wachstum deutlich, den das DIW Berlin im Juni diesen Jahres mit Experten aus Wissenschaft, Politik und Praxis durchgeführt hat. Finanzierungsbeschränkungen stellen ein Haupthindernis für die Entwicklung junger Hightech-Unternehmen dar. Der Venture-Capital-Markt in Europa ist nur in begrenztem Umfang geeignet, dieses Hemmnis zu beseitigen. Universitäten spielen beim Wissenstransfer eine Schlüsselrolle. Unternehmen wissensbasierter Branchen siedeln sich in der Nähe von herausragenden Universitäten an. Auch die meisten Ausgründungen (Spin-offs) aus Universitäten und öffentlichen Forschungseinrichtungen wählen ihren Standort im näheren Umkreis.
