Abstract

This paper aims at a greater understanding of characteristics associated with success of the logistics partnership. We hypothesize that trust and control are positively related to indicator of partnership success (satisfaction) and analyse the relationships between these variables. Then we try to test these hypotheses using a structural equations model. If this article confirms the central role of trust in the specific context of « Supply Chain Management », our study also shows that control, through its dimension of evaluation and monitoring, has a direct impact on the trust between partners and the success of the cooperative relationship. In addition, our results suggest that the role of diverse components of control (evaluation procedures and formalisation of agreements) could be contingent to the lifetime of the relationship.
