Abstract

In this theoretical article, we build on the Theory of Practice to support the distinction between strategy practitioners and non-strategy practitioners in terms of strategic skills and legitimacy. We analyse the consequences of this distinction regarding their respective tactics when they jointly participate to a strategy process. These tactics are patterned by the double advantage of practical and hierarchical legitimacy of strategy practitioners over non-strategy practitioners and lead to local variations in the implementation of strategic practices. In this way; we contribute to a better integration of politics and organizational context in the S-A-P perspective.
