Abstract

Abstract:The debate about Dollarization has gained relative importance in Latin America over the past years, and Colombia is not to be an exception. To those who are in favor and against, we add the ones that consider the discussion to be irrelevant. This article surveys the pros and cons to Dollarization, just as it reviews the international empirical evidence, and more over, its importance to the Colombian case. Neither the theoretical arguments, nor the empirical results are concluding, since each benefit has its cost, and the lack of information does not help to figure out the net effect
