Sincronización de ciclos económicos en el Mercosur: 1960-2008

Abstract

Este trabajo estudia la relación existente en el ciclo económico de 10 países de Sur América participantes del MERCOSUR en el periodo 1960-2008, con el propósito de verificar la existencia de un ciclo común entre los mismos. Se utiliza el flitro de Hodrick y Prescott (1997) como metodología para obtener el componente cíclico, y se comparan las correlaciones cruzadas con la metodología propuesta por Dolado et al. (1993) para identificar las diferentes relaciones entre el ciclo de los países. Se encontró que existen relaciones importantes entre algunas parejas de países, pero no existe evidencia que sugiera la existencia de un ciclo común en la región.
