Crecimiento económico y desigualdad del ingreso en Argentina

Abstract

A partir del abandono del régimen de Convertibilidad, y con la llegada al gobierno de Néstor Kirchner y Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, Argentina inicia un proceso de crecimiento con tasas anuales de crecimiento superiores al 7% cuyo éxito no tiene antecedentes en la historia económica del país. En este contexto, los objetivos del presente trabajo son por un lado, analizar las principales características que presenta el actual proceso de crecimiento económico, determinar sus sectores más dinámicos y principales diferencias que pueden encontrarse con períodos anteriores de crecimiento; y por el otro, dar cuenta del impacto que este proceso virtuoso ha tenido en materia de distribución del ingreso y en particular en relación a la evolución de la desigualdad. Abstract. Since the abbandonement of the convertibility regime, and with the administrations of Néstor Kirchner and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, Argentina has started a growth path with annual average rates higher than 7% which has no precendt in the countries¿ history. In this context, the aim of the paper are on the one hand to analyze the main characteristics of the current growth path, its driving sectors and the main differences it presents with previous periods of growth; and on the other, to study the impact that this growth process has had on income distribution and in particular to inequality.
