El Tipo de Cambio Real en el Grupo de los Tres - G3

Abstract

El presente trabajo muestra la evolución de los diferentes regímenes cambiariosque se han presentado en los países del G3, y analiza la potencialidad delacuerdo como un ejercicio econométrico a través de los comovimientos expuestospor Barro et al. (2002). Se realiza la prueba de cointegración de Johansen y Breitung para validar o no la hipótesis implícita de profundizar en el procesode integración entre los tres países así como en sus relaciones de largo plazo y de equilibrio. Posteriormente, se estima un modelo de vectores autorregresivos (VAR) no estructural con el fin de identificar el comportamiento de los tipos de cambio real ante un choque externo. La conclusión preliminar es que los tipos de cambio real del G3 cointegran a nivel y son sensibles ante choques exógenos sin importar el régimen cambiario.
