¿Es eficiente el mercado cambiario colombiano? Una mirada desde las pruebas de cointegración

Abstract

Este artículo analiza la eficienciasemifuerte del mercado cambiario colombianocon dos regímenes de cambiodiferentes: el sistema de banda cambiariay el tipo de cambio flexible. En el estudiose emplearon diferentes pruebasde cointegración, adicionalmente unaprueba de restricciones en los parámetrosde cointegración, planteadapor Ferré y Hall (2002), con la cual sepuede demostrar que cointegración entrelos mercados de divisas no significanecesariamente ineficiencia de estos.Para realizar el estudio se emplearondatos diarios de la tasa de cambio. Losresultados indican que tanto para elrégimen de banda como el de tasa decambio flexible el mercado cambiariocolombiano es eficiente.
