La política fiscal en los anos ochenta

Abstract

El propósito de este trabajo es el de hacer una resena de los hechos más destacados de la política fiscal en la década de los anos ochenta, en sus aspectos macroeconómicos, institucionales y legales. Ellos son:1) el rápido crecimiento del sector público; 2) el desequilibrio financiero; 3) los esfuerzos realizados para mejorar el manejo financiero del sector público y darle mayor agilidad a la transferencia de ahorro al interior del propio sector. Posteriormente se aborda la discusión sobre las relaciones directas entre las finanzas públicas y la balanza de pagos en un período en que el sector público tuvo un peso significativo en las operaciones comerciales y financieras con el exterior.
