Abstract

Resumen En el presente estudio, a trav�s del an�lisis de la base de datos de los estudiantes de Econom�a, de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali, desde su inicio, en el a�o 2000, hasta el primer semestre del a�o 2008, se determinan las caracter�sticas asociadas la deserci�n de dichos estudiantes. Se tienen en cuenta, seg�n la teor�a: variables socioecon�micas, institucionales y personales. Esto, con el fin de realizar un modelo de supervivencia en el que se determine el riesgo de desertar que tienen los estudiantes. De esta forma, se pretende apoyar la retenci�n, a trav�s de varios programas, como el realizado por la Consejer�a Acad�mica.
