Abstract

Las autoridades colombianas han inducido a las empresas de distribución de energía eléctrica a utilizar nuevas tecnologías compatibles con los altos niveles de calidad requeridos para ofrecer el servicio. Estas empresas han comprado equipos que tienen patentes sobre proceso, que la Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio reconoce por un periodo de veinte años. En este artículo se determina la duración óptima de la patente para tres tipos de equipos en las condiciones de Bogotá, y se compara el costo para ese periodo de vigencia con el de la duración óptima.
