Fuentes de las Economías de Aglomeración: una revisión bibliográfica

Abstract

A partir de una revisión de la literatura sobre las economías de aglomeración se resaltan los aportes de diversos trabajos teóricos y empíricos, en particular, los que se relacionan con las causas de tales economías. Como referencias principales se toman dos trabajos pioneros, el de G. Duranton y D. Puga (2003) y el de S. Rosenthal y W. Strange (2003). El primero recopila trabajos teóricos y resume en tres categorías los mecanismos microeconómicos de las economías de aglomeración: sharing, matching y learning. El segundo recoge los trabajos empíricos y considera tres fuentes microeconómicas: input sharing, knowledge spillovers y labor market pooling.
