Albert Hirschman en Colombia y la planeación del desarrollo

Abstract

Este ensayo se refiere a los ejercicios de diagnóstico y formulación de estrategias de inversión pública en Colombia en los anos cincuenta del siglo XX. Se hace un recuento de los antecedentes del Informe del Consejo Nacional de Planificación correspondiente al ano de 1952, que contó con la asesoría de Albert Hirschman (quien residió en Colombia entre 1952 y 1956) y se describen y analizan los principales aspectos del mismo. A lo largo del ensayo se detecta la manera en la cual Hirschman fue construyendo las ideas centrales de su libro La estrategia del desarrollo económico, publicado en los Estados Unidos en 1958. El artículo concluye con un comentario sobre la necesidad que tiene Colombia de aplicar los principios conceptuales heredados de Albert Hirschman en su proceso de planeación del desarrollo
