L'immigration en France, quelles réactions des salaires et de l'emploi ?

Abstract

En France, en 2010, un dixième de la population active était immigrée. Quel impact cet apport d'actifs a-t-il eu sur les salaires et l'emploi des natifs ? Une analyse centrée sur la substitution entre natifs et immigrés montre d'abord que l'immigration n'a pas eu d'effet sur les salaires des natifs de même niveau d'éducation et d'expérience. En revanche, l'emploi des natifs peut diminuer au profit de celui des immigrés lorsque ces derniers sont amenés à accepter de moins bonnes conditions d'emploi. Une analyse prenant en compte des effets de long terme montre ensuite que, du fait d'une forte augmentation de la qualification des immigrés sur vingt ans, l'immigration a eu un impact différencié sur les salaires des natifs selon leur niveau de qualification.
