How Do Economists Assess the Economic Policy Responses to the Coronavirus Crisis? – Part 2

Abstract

The level of aid to the economy during the coronavirus crisis is appropriate. This is the position taken by the majority of the economists surveyed in the ifo-FAZ Economists Panel: 60 percent of the 123 professors interviewed agreed with this statement. The staggered increase in the short-time allowance was approved of by 43 percent. Purchase bonuses for new cars were not accepted: 89 percent were against them.
