Abstract

In many sectors ongoing digitalisation will lead to a stronger involvement of households and thus to decentralised software applications. In the energy sector, and especially in the electricity sector, the continuous expansion of decentral generation also calls for the improved coordination of regional supply and demand. In this context, blockchain technology is seen as a promising instrument for handling local trade flows and/or transactions more efficiently.
