Climate Notes: The Global Coal Market – a Review and Outlook

Abstract

Worldwide coal consumption has risen more strongly than that of any other fossil fuel in recent years. This article looks at key developments in recent year in terms of coal consumption, production and trading and examines the outlook for future coal consumption through 2040.
