A Few Remarks on the FAZ Economist Ranking 2014

Abstract

In September 2014 the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung published its second annual ranking of economists, which showed clear methodological progress compared to the first ranking. In addition to achievements in research, this year’s ranking also took two further aspects into consideration: media presence and policy advisory work. This article offers a critical analysis of the ranking and compares it to those of the Handelsblatt and the RePEc.
