Abstract

The environmental industry is an important sector of the economy in Bavaria. For a recent study commissioned by the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology, Ifo researchers surveyed 700 Bavarian enterprises that are active in environmental protection. The Ifo study recommends that the Bavarian environmental industry focus more strongly in future on foreign customers and partners in order to build up an independent industry that is not controlled by the German government.
