Wasserwerke investieren wieder mehr als 5 Mrd. DM

Abstract

Nach den Ergebnissen der im Frühjahr gemeinsam vom Bundesverband der Deutschen Gas- und Wasserwirtschaft und dem ifo Institut durchgeführten Erhebung haben die deutschen Wasserwerke 1998 mit 4,91 Mrd. DM gut 4% weniger für Investitionen ausgegeben als im Vorjahr. Überdurchschnittlich stark wurden die Investitionen in den neuen Bundesländern gekürzt, da der Nachholbedarf - hinsichtlich Wasserqualität und Zustand des Rohrnetzes - allmählich gedeckt ist. Dafür sprechen auch die für 1999 gemeldeten Pläne der ostdeutschen Wasserversorgungsunternehmen (WVU): Sie sehen eine Einschränkung der Investitionen um fast 10% auf rund 1,2 Mrd. DM vor. Die westdeutschen WVU wollen - nach den hochgerechneten Planangaben - mit 4,07 Mrd. DM um fast 14% mehr ausgeben als 1998.
