Ostdeutschland : Verbraucherpreisanstieg statistisch überzeichnet

Abstract

Die vom Statistischen Bundesamt für Ostdeutschland ausgewiesene Preissteigerungsrate ist zur Zeit überzeichnet. Maßgeblich hierfür ist, daß sich Güter mit administrierten Preisen in den ersten Jahren nach der Wende überproportional verteuerten. Das Ausmaß der Überzeichnung könnte sich derzeit auf rund 0,5% Prozentpunkte belaufen, was auf den Lebenshaltungsindex für die gesamte Bundesrepublik immerhin mit 0,1% Prozentpunkten durchschlagen würde. Daraus kann zwar nicht geschlossen werden, daß eine Neuberechnung des Preisindex für Ostdeutschland auf der Basis eines aktuelleren Wägungsschemas "automatisch" niedrigere Raten in der geschätzten Größenordnung ergeben würde. Der Wechsel würde aber die Indexkalkulation wieder auf eine aussagefähigere Basis stellen.
