Änderungen im Umfeld der Faltschachtelindustrie

Abstract

In der Bundesrepublik ist der Verbrauch von Faltschachteln von 1979 bis 1989 um ca. ein Fünftel gestiegen. Hauptabnehmer sind der Nahrungs- und Genußmittelsektor mit ca. 50% und die Konsumgüterchemie mit ca. 25%. Nach Ländern aufgegliedert sind die Bundesrepublik Deutschland, Finnland, Schweden und Italien die größten Kartonhersteller in Westeuropa. Von ganz entscheidender Bedeutung für die Bedienung des deutschen Marktes für Faltschachtelkarton sind die beiden skandinavischen Länder Schweden und Finnland. Auf sie entfielen 1979 und 1987 rund drei Fünftel aller diesbezüglichen ausländischen Lieferungen in die Bundesrepublik. Da Kartonverpackungen eine starke Abfallbelastung darstellen, beteiligt sich die Faltschachtelindustrie am Rückholsystem des "Dualen Abfallwirtschaftssystems".Dennoch werden abfallvermeidende Maßnahmen das Wachstum dieses Industriezweiges behindern. In der Faltschachtelindustrie der Bundesrepublik gibt es ca. 150 Betriebe. Die bedeutendsten Hersteller in Europa, gemessen an der Produktionskapazität, sind Italien und das Vereinigte Königreich.
