Innovationsstandort Sachsen im nationalen und europäischen Vergleich

Abstract

Die Position Sachsens als Innovationsstandort wird anhand der Ausstattung des Freistaatsmit Ressourcen für Forschungs-, Entwicklungs- und Innovationsaktivitäten analysiert. Im innerdeutschen Vergleich rangiert Sachsen bei den Inputfaktoren für den Innovationsprozeß im Mittelfeld, steht aber an der Spitze der ostdeutschen Länder. Im europäischen Vergleich der Regionen ist der Freistaat im Hinblick auf seine relative Innovationsstärke gut aufgestellt. Bei der Finanzschwäche der jungen sächsischen Industriefirmen läßt sich diese Position ohne staatliche FuE-Förderung und die Ausnutzung der Synergien von Forschungsnetzwerken nicht halten.
