Wachstumsbremse Bau - Wann kehrt Ostdeutschland wieder zum Aufholpfad zurück?

    Abstract

    Die zu beobachtende Wachstumsschwäche Ostdeutschlands ist auf eine strukturelle Verwerfung der ostdeutschen Wirtschaft zurückzuführen, die im Gefolge der massiven Investitionsförderung nach der Vereinigung entstanden ist. Die Analyse der Entwicklungsperspektiven für die Bauinvestitionen zeigt, dass die Belastung des Wachstums der ostdeutschen Wirtschaft durch das schrumpfende Baugewerbe noch bis mindestens 2002 anhalten wird. Im ungünstigen Fall könnte sich der Schrumpfungsprozess bis 2005/2006 erstrecken. Nur in dem günstigeren Szenario wird der Aufholprozess der ostdeutschen Wirtschaft noch in diesem Jahrfünft wieder in Gang kommen. höheren Verkaufserlöse und die verbesserte Ertragslage für eine Erhöhung der Innovationsanstrengungen genutzt haben. Die Befunde deuten darauf hin, dass bisher kein spürbarer Innovationsschub eingetreten ist. Das ist nicht unbedenklich, da innovationsstarke Unternehmen eindeutig wachstums- und ertragsstärker sind und häufiger die Beschäftigung ausweiten.
