Hongkong : Die postkoloniale Ära hat begonnen

Abstract

Nach den Übergabefeiern in Hong Kong herrscht wieder "Business as usual". Dennoch scheinen die goldenen Jahre ihrem Ende zuzugehen. Derzeit sehen sich die Entscheidungsträger in den politischen und wirtschaftlichen Kreisen Hong Kongs vor einer doppelten Existenzfrage. Ihr zu begegnen wird alle Energie benötigen. Zum einen muß die Integration in der VR China so vollzogen werden, daß die Funktionsfähigkeit der Hong Konger Wirtschaftsordnung nicht beeinträchtigt wird. Zum anderen gilt es, die in den letzten Jahren aufgebrochenen Strukturprobleme zu überwinden, um die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit auf dem Weltmarkt auch mittelfristig bewahren zu können.
