Der sächsische Arbeitsmarkt im Dezember 1996

Abstract

In Ostdeutschland und Sachsen hat sich die Zahl der Arbeitslosen am Ende des Jahres 1996 spürbar vergrößert. Im Dezember 1996 wurden in den neuen Ländern 1,186 Mill. Menschen ohne Arbeit gezählt, 73.000 mehr als Ende 1995 und 69.700 mehr als im November. Die Arbeitslosenquote erhöhte sich binnen Jahresfrist von 15,8% auf 17,0%. Im Freistaat Sachsen waren zuletzt 321.300 Erwerbslose registriert, was ein Zuwachs von 22.100 gegenüber dem Vormonat und von 10.900 gegenüber dem Vorjahreswert ausmacht. Die Arbeitslosenquote wuchs während der letzten des Jahres 1996 von 14,7% auf 15,8%. Die Gründe für die ungünstige Entwicklung auf dem Arbeitsmarkt dürften in Ostdeutschland und in Sachsen neben der kraftlosen Konjunktur und dem zeitigen Wintereinbruch besonders im Rückgang bei den arbeitsmarktentlastenden Maßnahmen und in den wirtschaftlichen Problemen in der Bauwirtschaft zu suchen sein.
