Öko-Audit-Verordnung - ein Impuls für den Umweltmarkt?

Abstract

Ökoaudit ist ein umweltpolitisches Instrumentarium von neuer Qualität, das auf Freiwilligkeit, Selbstorganisation und Eigenkontrolle basiert. Es führt zu einem betrieblichen Umweltschutz, der über die Einhaltung allein gesetzesbedingter Umweltauflagen hinausgeht. In kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen (KMU) des Regierungsbezirkes Leipzig wurde 1995 auf der Grundlage von mündlichen und schriftlichen Befragungen untersucht, warum und wie die Bereitschaft zum Ökoaudit ausgprägt ist. In die Untersuchung wurden insgesamt 70 Unternehmen aus der Verbrauchs- und Investitionsgüterindustrie sowie der Grundstoffindustrie, einschließlich von Unternehmen aus dem Energie- und Recyclingbereich, einbezogen. Mit Anteilen von 63 % bzw. 37 % der befragten Unternehmen beteiligten sich die kleinen bzw. mittleren Unternehmen. Ausgewählte Ergebnisse dieser Untersuchung sollen vorgestellt werden. Insbesondere werden die Motivation der KMU für Umweltschutzmaßnahmen, die Integration des Umweltschutzes in das Management der Unternehmen sowie mögliche Auswirkungen von Umweltschutzmaßnahmen auf die Märkte diskutiert.
