Ostdeutsche Wirtschaft auf neuen Strukturwandel vorbereitet?

Abstract

Das ostdeutsche Forschungspersonal erlebte nach der Wende einen radikalen Kurswechsel. War in der ehemaligen DDR, gemessen an der Bevölkerungszahl, relativ mehr Personal in der Forschung und Entwicklung eingesetzt als im Westen Deutschlands, gab es anschließend nur wenige Forscher, die noch eine Beschäftigung fanden. So wurden zum Beispiel im Bereich der Universitäten und der außeruniversitären Forschung völlig neue Organisationsstrukturen geschaffen und in erheblichem Umfang Personal abgebaut. Durch kräftig sprudelnde Subventionen angeregt, haben Sachkapitalinvestitionen in den neuen Bundeländern während der letzten Jahre zu einer Modernisierung des privaten Kapitalstocks und einer bereits weit gediehenen - Erneuerung der wirtschaftsnahen Infrastruktur geführt.
