Abstract

Sustainable development of national industry implies interaction between population, economic progress and natural resources potential. Considering the principles of modern economic development concept, the authors have identified as basic elements of this process: human resources (including labor force, education), natural resources (including environmental factors), capital formation and technology. The original contribution of this paper's authors consists of a multicriterial approach to analyzing the production factors influence upon sustainable development of Romanian industry; the neoclassical economic model developed in order to stress that impact by asdding the necessary mathematical rigour. This paper is a synthesis of the research work carried out within the framework of the 2002-2004 program "Specialization and complementarily in Romania's industrial development with the view of European Union integration".
