Démographie, femme et famille : relations entre conjoints en Iran post-révolutionnaire

Abstract

Paradoxical as it may seem, it was after the establishment of the Islamic Republic and despite its laws, which are unfavourable to women, that fertility began to drop rapidly in Iran. This decline has brought about noticeable changes in the emotional relationships between couples, a better balance. The family thus appears as the place where women have managed to rock the patriarchal order. This change has undoubtedly been decisive in explaining the positions that Iranian women have taken to express their discontentment with the country's political and legal system.
