Abstract

[eng] The decline in demand for unskilled labor. An empirical analysis method and its application to france. . The decline in the percentage of unskilled workers in total French employment is chiefly due to the slackness of domestic demand for those industries with the highest proportion of such workers. The new technologies do not seem to have been particularly conducive to substitutions of skilled labor for unskilled labor in individual industries and occupations. We test and reject the biased technical changes hypothesis.
