Appropriation des technologies de l'information et de la communication par les pays arabes : difficultés d'adoption ou source de développement ?

Abstract

This paper treats the problematic of the ?digital divide? between the Arab countries. Empirical study shows that relation between Gross National Income and human capital (independent variables) and diffusion of ICT - dependent variable - is statistically significant. While analysing as well the factors which delayed the development of the Arab society of information as well as the main characteristics of the adoption of TIC by the Arab States, this article shows finally how these countries can take advantage of these technologies as a source of economic development.
