Právna úprava hraničných kontrol a víz v Európskej únii

Abstract

Jadrom projektu európskej integrácie je rušenie kontrol osôb na vnútorných hraniciach, pričom dôsledkom tohto kroku je presunutie hraničných kontrol na vonkajšie hranice členských krajín Európskej únie. Ide o viac ako len symbolický signál vo vzťahu k ostatnému svetu, pretože Európska únia má spoločnú hranicu, ktorú mieni ochraňovať a posilňovať. Zámerom tohto článku je objasniť historický vývoj a najdôležitejšie opatrenia, ktoré sa týkajú hraničných kontrol a víz v Európskej únii.
