The Lucas-Cukierman model is modified to allow for agents' imperfect knowledge of the key money supply parameter and to make the extent of information acquisition by agents endogenous. A Bayesian framework is used and the effectiveness of monetary policy during the learning process is also examined. Copyright 1989 by The editors of the Scandinavian Journal of Economics.
