Impacto global de una desaceleración en China

Abstract

Una desaceleración acusada y sostenida de la economía china, dada su importancia sistémica, afecta a la economía global no solo por su peso en el PIB mundial, sino también por su conexión con otras economías, tanto en el frente comercial como en los mercados de materias primas y, de manera más incipiente, en el sistema financiero global. Indirectamente, los desarrollos en China también tienen efectos sobre la incertidumbre y la confianza globales. En este artículo se presentan algunas simulaciones del impacto negativo que tendría sobre la economía mundial, y sobre la Unión Económica y Monetaria en particular, una desaceleración de la economía china más intensa de lo que esperan los principales analistas. En concreto, una desaceleración adicional del crecimiento anual de China de 1 punto porcentual (pp) induciría una reducción del crecimiento mundial de 0,4 pp en un año con efectos especialmente significativos en los productores de materias primas y en las economías asiáticas.
