Abstract

Today, as a connection point of air transportation the airports are playing an important role in development of the contemporary society. However, airports also causes both regional and global environmental pollution as a result of operations. Some measures to guarantee the international environmental standards that help the decreasing and controlling the noise, air and water pollution and ecological impacts of airports should be taken. In this study, the importance of environmental management systems at airports is pointed out to control the impacts of airports on environment and to achieve sustainable development.
