An Analysis Of The Value Added – Criterion For The Determination Of The Economic Competitiveness
Abstract
Any enterprise activity involves the acquisition of production factors, their use and the achievement of goods and services necessary to satisfy the human needs. Under the circumstances of a market economy, where all entrepreneurs aim to maximize the profit, in order to survive, a company should develop an activity as effectively as possible (profitable) to achieve much higher performances. One of the most important evaluation indicators of economic and financial performance of a business is the value added. This is a significant indicator for the economic analysis, on its size being established: the true size (waist) of an enterprise, its economic power, the contribution to GDP, all these being the underlying elements that reflect the economic level of competitiveness. Based on these considerations, this paper aims to highlight the level of value added registered in the Romanian economy and, in particular, the contribution of the South-West Oltenia Development Region in getting it.Download Info
