Avant-propos du issue spécial sur L'Economie industrielle

Abstract

L'économie industrielle théorique est aujourd'hui un domaine de recherche très actif. Les difficiles questions abordées de manière informelle par les pionniers tels Bain, Coase, Stigler, Scherer, Williamson, etc. peuvent maintenant être étudiées de manière plus rigoureuse par les théoriciens de l'économie qui, grâce aux progrès de la théorie des jeux et de l'économie de l'information en particulier, ont développé leurs outils d'analyse. Non-convexités, information différentielle, coûts de transaction font l'objet de modélisations qui sans avoir la généralité du modèle Arrow-Debreu permettent néanmoins de progresser pas à pas dans la compréhension de l'économie de non-concurrence parfaite. Le foisonnement de ce courant intellectuel a donné lieu à la création de nouvelles revues, Bell Journal of Economics devenu récemment Rand Journal of Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Journal of Industrial Economics, Revue Française d'Économie Industrielle. Dans ce premier numéro des Annales d'Économie et de Statistique, nous avons rassemblé un ensemble d'articles représentatifs de cette nouvelle économie industrielle. Ces articles ont pour la plupart été présentés dans des Conférences d'Économie Industrielle organisées conjointement par l'INSEE et le GREMAQ, à Paris en juin 1984 et à Toulouse en juin 1985.
